In 1982, exploration geologist Don Muchow began mounting pewter figurines on minerals in the garage of his Reno, Nevada home. In December of that same year he quit his job, hired his first employee and Comstock Creations was born. The entire operation was moved to Durango, Colorado in 1984 and quickly began to grow and expand it's wholesale pewter product line. By 1989 Comstock Creations had been listed in Inc 500's list of 500 fastest growing private companies for two straight years.
